Maintaining the Finer Details
It is the attention to detail that makes one man stand out from another. You may have the bespoke suit and the designer shoes, but all they will remember is the state of your grubby looking hands.
To keep your hands in check and appearing well maintained, you simply need a couple of essential tools and some quality moisturising cream.
We suggest that our weekly maintenance routine will ensure that your hands will reflect the rest of your well groomed appearance. Try this routine following a bath or shower when the nails are softer and easier to trim.
Step 1
With a good pair of clippers trim the nails starting in the middle moving round to the sides.
Step 2
Using an emery board, smooth the edges of the nail working the strokes in just one direction.
Step 3
Leave your hands to soak in warm water for a couple of minutes, once done use a cuticle stick ( a cuticle stick is a soft wooden stick, avoid using a hard surface) to push the cuticles back towards the finger, allowing growth of the nail. (The cuticle is the semi-circle area of skin adjoining the nail to the finger).
Step 4
Now moisturize your hands all over with a rich hand lotion. This will keep your hands smooth and free of calluses.
Whilst you have the clippers out, give your feet a check up too. It’s pretty much the same as looking after your hands.
They are best trimmed following a bath or shower. But this time use a foot file or pumice stone to rub along the sole and heel to remove dead skin.
As with your fingernails, trim them starting in the centre moving around the nail, and finish off with a quality foot cream.
When using clippers, use a straight edge for toes and curved for fingernails.
Using the wrong clippers, your nails risk not growing properly.
